Education Pack DVDs - the ideal teaching resource for Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, GCSE, A Level, Scottish Higher, BA and more

Whether you’re teaching English, Drama or Theatre Studies, in the UK or overseas, there are numerous reasons why it makes sense for schools, colleges and teachers to pick a set text for which Stage on Screen DVDs are available:

 - It’s generally a requirement of the curriculum that students actually see a production of the set text they’re studying. However, theatre visits can be costly and impractical – this is a highly cost-effective alternative.

- Each production is highly professional, using professional actors and directors at London’s award-winning Greenwich theatre, which specialises in productions for young people.

- The filming on High Definition Video is also very professional and designed to deliver the look and feel of a live performance.

- The multi-region DVD format makes plays accessible and enjoyable for students – and therefore easier for them to understand the key themes and ideas.

- It’s easy to play and replay the performance or key scenes as often as you wish.

- In addition, each Education Pack comes with a wealth of extra resources, study aids and more, specially designed for teachers (see below).

- To help them maximise grades, students can also purchase their own versions for watching at home (these also make ideal presents from relatives)

What’s included in the Education Pack

The Education Pack comprises three or four separate elements:

- The main DVD of the play – with optional subtitles, plus scene selection, so you can play and replay key scenes as you wish.

- An extras DVD – including interviews with the director, production designer, costume designer and key actors, as well as stills of the production and costume design. This helps you and your students really get a feel for the play and the production.

- Mastershot DVD – this is the complete play filmed from the point of view of a single camera mastershot. It allows the viewer to see all the lighting and scene changes, as well as all entrances and exits of the actors.

- An interactive CD-ROM (Only included in Doctor Faustus and The School for Scandal) – this takes key scenes and shows them from multiple different camera angles, together with the master soundtrack. Students can then edit their own versions using a simple editing package. As well as being good fun, this really helps to imprint the significance of important scenes.
